Do you speak English? Is it really necessary to do so? Can you do it in the blink of an eye?
While being part of an academic program - or applying for a job - thousands of similar questions may arise, and for many people, let’s accept it, it comes to be quite a stressful situation; the clock continues ticking while we start feeling our time is running out, and English seems to get further away from us.
Or at least, that is what we perceive. But in reality, not everything is lost. We have convinced ourselves that this is a difficult task, but actually, it is not that hard. It takes time, patience and consistency, but in the end, you can do it.
Juan Fernando Rodríguez and Yaniana Castro, students from UC and academic monitors in the Language Department shared with us their views and general perceptions towards the usefulness of learning a foreign language (in their case: English).
They talked to us about their English learning process, the advantages (professional and academic wise), the “difficulties” they found along the way and how they overcame them, as well as the different strategies they used to improve day by day.
The invitation then is to click on the videos below and discover through their testimonies, what UC community should do to start this awesome adventure of learning a foreign language.
